Acorn After School Club
Our After School Club operates in the beautiful grounds of St Paul's Catholic College from 3:00 to 6:00pm. The Club offers places to children, aged 4 - 11 years, and runs a walking bus from St. Ignatius School.
We provide our children with a calm and relaxed atmosphere, offering them activity choices both inside and out. Activities cover the six areas of learning ranging from arts & crafts to physical education. All our children at Acorn are encouraged to make decisions regarding their choice of activities; each child’s input is valued and recognised.
Each session includes a nutritious meal and a dessert; fresh fruit is also available throughout the session. Fruit juice and water is set out for self-service at all times; enabling the children to help themselves, encouraging independence.
Children participate in set daily activities; children are also able to self-select other equipment if they wish to; encouraging free flow play. The After School Club is divided into four rooms; a role play room, quiet homework and reading room, music room, and the main hall which holds all creative activities and construction toys.
Our large outside area provides a safe, stimulating environment for the children to take part in physical activities. We have numerous resources available for the children to use in the garden which include; skipping ropes, footballs, soft mats, and mega jenga blocks.
